James Gunn Finds His Ratcatcher For The Suicide Squad

James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad has found its latest member of the new and improved Task Force X. Variety reports that Daniela Melchior (Valor da Vida) is set to play Ratcatcher in the upcoming film. The site notes that this version of Ratcatcher — originally a male in the comics — will have a connection to Idris Elba’s as-of-yet mystery character.

Melchior joins a cast that includes Elba, David Dastmalchian, and possibly John Cena alongside returning players Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn) and Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang). James Gunn is writing and directing the “soft reboot” with an August 6, 2021 release date.
