Sam Raimi is reuniting with one of his Spider-Man collaborators for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in Danny Elfman. Elfman spoke with Inverse for a new interview and confirmed that he will be scoring the MCU sequel, and has already begun work on the film.

“I am starting to do bits of pre-work for Doctor Strange 2 that Sam Raimi’s directing,” Elfman told the outlet. “Even though I don’t start it for some months, there’s bits of recorded music they need for the sets.”

Elfman and Raimi have a long history of working together, collaborating on Darkman, A Simple Plan, Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, and Oz the Great and Powerful previously. Elfman also has MCU experience, having scored Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Benedict Cumberbatch is reprising his role as Stephen Strange in the film alongside Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo, Benedict Wong as Wong, Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer, and Xochitl Gomez as America Chavz. Raimi is directing from a script by Jade Bartlett and Michael Waldron. It is set to release on March 25th, 2022.
