Disney+ is reviving The Santa Clause as a limited series, with Tim Allen set to return for to his famous role. Disney announced on Friday that Allen will executive produce the show, which has the working title The Santa Clause, and will reprise his role as Scott Calvin.

The series will begin production in Los Angeles in March under the purview of Jack Burditt (Frasier), who is executive producing and serving as showrunner. Kevin Hench (Last Man Standing), Richard Baker and Rick Messina will also serve as executive producers.

The series is described as follows:

“In the Disney+ series, Scott Calvin is on the brink of his 65th birthday and realizing that he can’t be Santa forever. He’s starting to lose a step in his Santa duties, and more importantly, he’s got a family who could benefit from a life in the normal world, especially his two kids who have grown up at the Pole. With a lot of elves, children, and family to please, Scott sets out to find a suitable replacement Santa while preparing his family for a new adventure in a life south of the pole.”

Allen previously played the role in the 1994 film of the same name, which was a massive hit with $189.8 million against a production budget of just $22 million. Two sequels followed and were also big hits: The Santa Clause 2 in 2002 and 2006’s The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause.
