Oscar Nominations: Everything Everywhere All At Once Dominates With 11

The nominations for the 95th Academy Awards have been announced, and Everything Everywhere All At Once leads the pack with 11. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the nominations for this year’s ceremony on Tuesday morning, which saw the Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert-directed absurdist sci-fi action-comedy pick up nods for a host of categories including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress (Michelle Yeoh), two for Best Supporting Actress (Jamie Lee Curtis & Stephanie Hsu), Best Supporting Actor (Ke Huy Quan), and many others.

Everything Everywhere was followed in the nomination count by The Banshees of Inisherin and Netflix’s All Quiet on the Western Front, which each picked up nine nominations. Both films are nominated for Best Picture along with Avatar: The Way of Water, Elvis, The Fabelmans, Tár, Top Gun: Maverick, Triangle of Sadness, and Women Talking. Fabelmans earned seven nominations, while Top Gun: Maverick took six.

Also earning significant nominations are Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which earned the Marvel Cinematic Universe its first acting nominee with Angela Basset’s Best Supporting Actress nod, and Tollywood action epic RRR which scored a nod for Best Original Song to become the first Indian narrative film nominated outside of Best International Film. The 95th Academy Awards will be held on March 12th, 2023 at Los Angeles’ Dolly Theatre and air live on ABC in the US.
