FOX Developing 24 Prequel Series Featuring Young Jack Bauer

FOX is at work on a 24 prequel series that will center on a young Jack Bauer, according to a new report. THR reports that Howard Gordon is involved in the project alongside original creators Joel Surnow and Bob Cochran, which is still in the early stages but could be ready as soon as midseason.

The new prospective series would “tell the origin story of how Jack Bauer became Jack Bauer.” This would be the latest attempt from FOX to bring the franchise to life following the original show’s run. Previous attempts included 24: Live Another Day which was always intended as a one-off revival kand last year’s 24: Legacy, which did not feature Kiefer Sutherland. It was canceled after one season.

There is no word on whether Sutherland would be involved, but of course with the project being an origin tale, a younger would likely play Jack.
