Giancarlo Esposito Says No One Has Guessed His Captain America: Brave New World Role

Giancarlo Esposito is making his MCU debut with Captain America: Brave New World, and he says no one has guessed who he’s playing yet. The actor appears in the trailer for the new Captain America film, with some speculating that he’s playing SHIELD agent G.W. Bridge. Esposito threw cold water on that theory when he said at Fanboy Expo in Nashville that his character hasn’t been figured out by online guessers, at least that he’s seen.

“The character I’m playing is a badass,” he said (per Dark Horizons). “That always excites me. For me to develop that character in line with the character’s inception is a fascinating art for me. I had an incredible time shooting it. I’m not telling you who I’m playing…people are trying to guess and no one has guessed correctly yet.”

Esposito previously said he will be appearing in a Disney+ series after Brave New World, though no word yet on which one. Captain America: Brave New World opens on February 14th, 2025.
