Deadline reports that Paramount is working on a remake of the 1995 comedy Clueless, with Tracy Oliver (Girls Trip) producing and Marquita Robinson (GLOW) writing the script. It’s said to be early in the development stage, so it’s unknown if it will be a new take or if older characters will return.
The first film was written and directed by Amy Heckerling, loosely based on Jane Austin’s Emma. It stars Alicia Silverstone, Paul Rudd, Breckin Meyer, Jeremy Sisto, Stacey Dash, Dan Hedaya and Brittany Murphy. Scott Rudin and Robert Lawrence were the producers. It even got a short-lived TV series that was on ABC for one season before going to UPN for two more seasons.
