HBO Orders Series Adaptation of Stephen King’s The Outsider

HBO has ordered a series based on Stephen King’s 2018 novel The Outsider, which will star Ben Mendelsohn. TV Line reports that Mendelsohn will executive produce alongside Jason Bateman, who will direct the first two episodes of the series.

The Outsider is a supernatural drama centered on an investigation into the gruesome murder of a local boy, which ultimately leads a seasoned cop and an unorthodox investigator to question everything they believe to be real, as an insidious supernatural force edges its way into the case.
