Bryan Kristopowitz: How did you get involved with The Protector?
Marguerite Moreau : Raul and I have had friends in common for 20 plus years and I have always enjoyed hanging out with him, so, I was excited to work with him professionally. He asked me to help with the sizzle reel. I had a good time doing that.
BK: How did you approach your character “Key”? What sort of fight training did you have to do for the part?
MM: I hired Karina Wolfe and Nilaya Sabnis as rehearsal partner and photographer (photoshoot in character) respectively, because there were so many elements of Key and the world that were different from myself. That way I could get physical and play off another person to find where the most tension was. No money for fight training.

BK: Describe your working relationship with director Raul Gasteazoro.
MM: Pretty easy peasy. “Ra-can I change this line?” “No”. “Ok”
BK: What was it like working with your fellow The Protector cast members?
MM: Not many can say they get to kill their husband and get away with it. Chris Redman was a gentleman about it, of course.
BK: What was it like working with Graham Greene, who plays Brand?
MM: Satisfying. And humbling.
BK: What was it like working with Victory Jones, who plays True?
MM: Cool. She’s very dynamic.
BK: What was it like working with Mark Lane III, who plays Kellen?
MM: Hilarious. He knew everyone’s lines and helped us all, be ahem, word perfect.

BK: What was the hardest part of making The Protector for you as an actor? What was the easiest?
MM: Hardest-covid got in the way a lot. The easiest? Wearing the costume. Loved all 40lbs of it.
BK: What is your favorite scene in The Protector?
MM: Anytime Graeme Greene is talking.
BK: You’ve worked in both movies and TV in your acting career. Do you prefer working in movies or TV or is it more about the material?
MM: I like working, period. Stage, screen, big or small. I love it all.

BK: How has the rise of streaming changed the movie and TV business?
MM: There is less money to make a living even for those who are able to make a living as an “on camera” actor.
BK: Are you more recognized for your work in The Mighty Ducks franchise or more for your work in Wet Hot American Summer?
MM: Duck Fly Together!
BK: What was it like appearing in the critically acclaimed TV show The Pitt?
MM: Making The Pitt was a terrific experience.
BK: Any moviemaking heroes?
MM: Could Tom Cruise and Quentin Tarantino work together? With myself?
BK: Any upcoming projects you can tell us about?
MM: I’m directing a play in The Blank Theater’s Young Playwrights Festival in July. Come! Tickets are free and the program is exceptional. I believe in it so much I joined the Board.
BK: What do you hope audiences get out of The Protector?
MM: Some entertainment and drive to join the cause!
BK: Do you have a favorite post-apocalypse movie?
MM: The Protector, of course!
BK: Would you want to try “dirt jousting” in real life?
MM: No thank you! Not a chance!
