Kevin Feige Says Charlie Cox Will Play Daredevil When The Character Returns
Marvel is sticking with Charlie Cox as their Daredevil in the MCU when that character eventually makes his return, per Kevin Feige. The Marvel chief recently sat down with CinemaBlend and, when asked about the character potentially showing up in the MCU, confirmed that the actor who played him in the Netflix series would reprise his role if and when he pops up.
“If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming things, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil,” Feige said. He was quick to add. “Where we see that how we see that, when we see that, remains to be seen.”
Cox played Matt Murdock/Daredevil for three seasons (plus The Defenders) in the Netflix Marvel series. There have been reports that Cox will reprise his role in the soon-to-release Spider-Man: No Way Home, but that has yet to be confirmed. Whether this makes all of the Netflix shows canon to the MCU or not also remains to be seen; the MCU version of a Cox-played Daredevil could be entirely a different part of the multiverse from the Netflix series. But for now, it’s at least a promising development to suggest we may see more characters from the Netflix shows showing up at some eventual point.
