Kim Kardashian Meets With President Donald Trump On Prison Reform

TMZ reports that Kim Kardashian West has met with President Donald Trump and his administration to talk about prison reform and lobby for the release of someone sentenced to life in prison for drug charges. She flew to Washington in the middle of the night from Los Angeles. The person she wants released is Chris Young, a 30-year-old who has served ten years of a life sentence in Tennessee for cocaine and marijuana possession.

She was previously on the Wrongful Conviction podcast where she said that she spoke with Young and promised to help free him. She also had regular contact with Jared Kushner, who is “passionate” about prison reform, especially drug cases with extended sentences. She is trying to convince Trump to feel the same way, to reform legislation so the punishment fits the crime.

Deputy Press Hogan Gidley said: “Today at the White House, members of the Administration are hosting a listening session about the clemency process. The discussion is mainly focused on ways to improve that process to ensure deserving cases receive a fair review.”

Others at the meeting include Kushner, Van Jones and Judge Kevin Sharp, who sentenced Young.
