Legendary Already Working On Detective Pikachu Sequel
The first film has yet to hit theaters, but Legendary Pictures knows a hit when they see one. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Legendary is already working on a sequel to the Pokemon movie Detective Pikachu before the original hits theaters on May 10 from Warner Bros. Oren Uziel (Sonic the Hedgehog) has been hired to write the script, but it’s unknown what the sequel will be about at this time.
The first film stars Ryan Reynolds as the voice of Detective Pikachu, along with Suki Waterhouse, Justice Smith, Kathryn Newton, Rita Ora and Bill Nighy. It was directed by Rob Letterman from a script he wrote with Nicole Perlman.
Here’s a synopsis: The story begins when ace private eye Harry Goodman goes mysteriously missing, prompting his 21-year-old son Tim to find out what happened. Aiding in the investigation is Harry’s former Pokémon partner, Detective Pikachu: a hilariously wise-cracking, adorable super-sleuth who is a puzzlement even to himself.
