Margot Robbie Says Birds of Prey Will Start Filming in January, Claims Film Will be R-Rated

Flickering Myth recently spoke to actress and producer Margot Robbie, who revealed that the planned Birds of Prey movie for the DCEU is set to start filming in January. Robbie also stated that the film will have an R-rating and will be made with a “much smaller budget.” Robbie previously stated that she wanted it to be R-rated last May. It appears now the project is R-rated…unless Warner Bros. decides to change it later.

Additionally, she told Yahoo! Movies about the film plans, “The costumes haven’t been designed yet but yes she’ll have new looks. There will be new Halloween costumes out there, one day.”

Cathy Yan is attached to direct the upcoming DC feature. It does not yet have an official release date.
