Mark Hamill Says Luke Kissing Leia’s Forehead in Star Wars: The Last Jedi Was Unscripted
Mark Hamill took to Twitter to reveal that one of the big emotional moments of Star Wars: The Last Jedi wasn’t in the script. Hamill replied to a fan on Twitter to loved the reunion between Luke and Leia in the film, when Luke appears to his sister via Force Projection. In his response, Hamill revealed that Luke kissing Leia’s forehead wasn’t something that was in the script:
An emotionally charged day on set filming this because, knowing he was about to sacrifice his life for the greater good, Luke was saying goodbye… forever. The kiss was unscripted & spontaneous in the moment, summarizing his/my feelings in a way words could never have conveyed. https://t.co/l6Ap50WO8U

Hamill and Carrie Fisher were always great friends after they starred in the original trilogy together, and Hamill has had plenty of stories about working with Fisher in the two years since her passing. You can see the scene below, if you need your memory refreshed.
