Backstage Update on Ilja Dragunov Joining AEW

As previously reported, former WWE Superstar and United States Champion Ilja Dragunov has been heavily rumored to be joining AEW soon. A new update from Fightful Select has more details on his upcoming debut.

According to the report, not even the top stars in AEW know exactly when Ilja Dragunov will make his AEW debut. However, it’s said he is joining the promotion, and materials have already been prepared for him.

It’s also said that AEW is working through Dragunov’s visa details. Dragunov parted ways with WWE recently after his contract expired. He made his last WWE TV appearance on SmackDown right before WrestleMania 42, competing in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
