Mark Hamill Shares Footage of First Star Wars Screen Test With Harrison Ford

Footage of Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford’s first Star Wars screen test is online, and Hamill himself shared an anecdote about it. You can see the footage below, which was shared by CNBC contributor Carl Quintanilla. The footage features Hamill and Ford doing lines about the destruction of Alderaan, and Hamill noted that at the time he had no idea what kind of movie it even was.

Hamill noted that he asked George Lucas about the film, who said, “Let’s just do it, we’ll talk about that later.” He added, “We never did talk about it later-we just did it.”

The scene was from a rough draft of the script for the 1977 film, which is of course now a piece of cinematic history.
