Marvel Taps The Punisher Showrunner To Take Over Daredevil: Born Again

Marvel has found a new showrunner for Daredevil: Born Again, and it’s the guy who served in that role on The Punisher. THR reports that Dario Scardapane, who guided the Netflix Punisher series and also showran Prime Video’s Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, has been brought in to act in the same role for the upcoming MCU series.
Daredevil: Born Again is undergoing a creative overhaul while it is on pause due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. After looking over the footage that had been shot, Marvel executives decided to go in a new direction and original showrunners Chris Ord and Matt Corman departed that role, though they remain on board as executive producers.
In addition, Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (Synchronic) have been brought on to direct the remaining episodes for the first season. Benson and Moorhead directed two episodes of Moon Knight as well as two on the second season of Loki, making them well familiar with the Marvel process. Marvel has reportedly decided to overhaul how they approach television series, moving away from a more movie-like process and into traditional TV formats involving showrunners, pilots, series bibles, and such.
The series sees Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio return to their roles as as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin. Jon Bernthal is also reportedly returning as The Punisher.
