Marvel Releases First Clip From Spider-Man: Far From Home

The first clip is online for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Far From Home, with Peter Parker getting a lesson in Multiverses 101. You can see the clip below, in which Peter (Tom Holland) meets Mysterio and learns that the multiverse is a thing. We also specifically learn that our Mysterio is from Earth-833, which is interesting for a couple of potential reasons.

For those not in the know, the Marvel multiverse is the idea of multiple realities within the Marvel Universe, each with their own number. The “main” Marvel reality numbered 616, thus the term “Earth-616.” That corresponds to what Mysterio says in the clip. However, if Earth-833 also corresponds accurately, that would make his home that of Spider-UK. Earth-833 first appeared in December of 2014 as part of the Spider-Verse event; in that universe, Spider-UK was the only survivor (and, in fact, later died in last year’s Spider-Geddon event). That would mean either that only 616 and select other universes correspond with their comics counterparts’ numbering, Mysterio is lying, or he also survived in the film continuity. Whatever the case, we’ll know more when the film opens on July 5th.

Peter Parker returns in Spider-Man: Far From Home, the next chapter of the Spider-Man: Homecoming series. Our friendly neighborhood Super Hero decides to join his best friends Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang on a European vacation. However, Peter’s plan to leave super heroics behind for a few weeks are quickly scrapped when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks, creating havoc across the continent.
