Matthew Vaughn Names Three Actors Who Could Play Wolverine in the MCU

It’s probably only a matter of time until Wolverine makes his MCU debut, and X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn has named his picks for the role. Vaughn spoke with ComicBook.com and named a trio of potential Wolverines in Tom Hardy, Taron Egerton, and Andrew Taylor-Johnson.

“Well, he’s got older now, but I would say Tom Hardy would have…been awesome,” Vaughn said. “I think Taron [Egerton] could do it in his sleep. Aaron Taylor-Johnson could do it as well. I mean, I think Aaron or Taron would be my first two choices could do it really well.”

Vaughn has directed Egerton as part of the Kingsman franchise. Taylor-Johnson has previously been in the MCU as Quicksilver in Avengers: Age of Ultron, though he would not be the first person to play multiple MCU roles; that honor belongs to Gemma Chan, who starred in both Captain Marvel as Minn-Erva and Eternals as Sersi.
