Michael B. Jordan says he’s looking forward to starting filming on his I Am Legend sequel with Will Smith. As previously reported, Jordan is set to co-star with Smith in a sequel to the 2007 post-apocalyptic film and he recently spoke with People Magazine about the project.
“We’re still working on the script and getting that up to par,” Jordan said. “It doesn’t have a release date or anything like that. I’m not sure exactly where we’re going to be filming that one, but I’m really excited to get in front of the camera with him [Smith].”
He added that Smith is “somebody that I’ve looked up to for a really long time, [so] to be able to work with Will is something I’m really looking forward to. I’m really excited.”
The film will build off the alternate ending of the original film, which saw Smith’s character survive as opposed the theatrical version where he dies in the end. Akiva Goldman is writing the sequel’s script.
I Am Legend was a major hit for Warner Bros. Pictures, grossing $585.4 million against a $150 million budget.
