Netflix Cancels Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Final Episodes Coming This Year
Sabrina’s run on Netflix is coming to an end, with the final epsodes coming later this year. Netflix announced on Wednesday that Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will end its run with the Part Four that is set to release later this year.
The series has run for 28 episodes so far, with another eight to comprise the fourth part that Netflix said will lead to a “spooky, sexy & supernatural series finale.” Deadline reports that it is not yet clear if any characters, up to and including Kiernan Shipka’s titular witch, will end up making their way to parent series Riverdale on The CW.
Four seasons is a standard life cycle for Netflix as of late; Netflix announced a fourth (and final) renewal for Ozark recently.
“Working on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has been an incredible honor from Day One,” said Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the developer and showrunner of the series. “The cast, beginning with Kiernan as everyone’s favorite teen witch, has been an absolute joy. I am beyond thankful to the crew, writers, editors, assistants, and everyone for pouring so much love into this dark dream of a show. I’m also grateful to our partners at Netflix, Warner Bros., Berlanti Television and Archie Comics for letting us tell the story we wanted to tell, the way we wanted to tell it. We can’t wait for everyone to see Part Four.”
