Morpheus’ adventures are set to continue, as Netflix has renewed The Sandman for a second season. Deadline reports that the streaming service has renewed the series for a second season following the first season’s hit run that started in August.

The series is based on Neil Gaiman’s acclaimed DC/Vertigo comic book series and stars Tom Sturridge as Morpheus (or Dream), the Lord of Dreams and one of the Endless. The first season covered the first two volumes of the comic book series in which Dream escapes from captivity at the hands of a mortal wizard and reclaims his realm and property, then gets drawn into a plot involving a “dream vortex” named Rose Walker. A bonus episode was released after the ten-episode run that adapted two additional stories, “A Dream of A Thousand Cats” and “Calliope.”

The first season also starred Boyd Holbrook as the Corinthian, Vivienne Acheampong as Lucienne, Patton Oswalt as the voice of Matthew the Raven, David Thewlis as John Dee, Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer Morningstar, Jenna Coleman as Johanna Constantine, and Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Death.
