New Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings Trailer Unveils More Story, Surprising Cameo
A new trailer for Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is online, unveiling more of the story and revealing an unexpected appearance. You can see the trailer below for the film, which unfurls the conflict between the titular character (Simu Liu) and his father, Wenwu (Tony Leung).
The movie also features a closing bit that sees Shang-Chi about to fight what appears to be Abomination, last seen in The Incredible Hulk played by Tim Roth. Roth was already confirmed to be returning to the role in the upcoming Disney+ She-Hulk series, but this is the first time he’s been revealed as part of Shang-Chi.
“Shang-Chi’s main problem in his life is rooted in not knowing who he really is,” said director Dustin Daniel Cretton. “He has to learn how to own every part of himself. If he doesn’t allow himself to look at all of it—the good, the bad, the light and the dark—and to own it all, he won’t be able to reach his full potential.”
The film stars Liu, Awkwafina, Leung, Michelle Yeoh, Fala Chen, Meng’er Zhang, Florian Munteanu, and Ronny Chieng. Directed by Cretton, it arrives on September 3rd and is described as follows:
Shang-Chi must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization.
