New Trailer For Companion Reveals Sci-Fi Thriller Plot
The new trailer for Drew Hancock’s Companion has revealed the sci-fi Thriller film’s plot. Warner Bros. Pictures released the new trailer on Wednesday for the film, which stars Sophie Thatcher and Jack Quaid.
The trailer reveals that Thatcher is playing a “sex bot” who breaks free from her programming after Quaid’s character jailbreaks her, leading to things getting bloody very quickly. Hancock spoke with EW about the film, noting that he would have preferred to have the plot remain secretive but acknowledging that they had to be revealed to sell the movie.
Thatcher also noted that it’s different than the easy comparisons to M3GAN and the Megan Fox film Subservience that released last year, noting, “The silver lining of showing the audience [that] this is a movie about a robot is it’s a way to kind of get ahead of anyone dismissing it as another robot movie. Because it’d be so easy to just be like, ‘This is M3GAN,’ or, ‘This is the Megan Fox movie.’ It’s a little different to be like, ‘No, this is a robot movie, but it’s not like any other robot movie that’s out right now.’ It’s not A.I. gone wrong, it’s A.I. gone right.”
The movie also stars Rupert Friend, Harvey Guillén, Lukas Gage, and Megan Suri. Releasing on January 31st, it is described officially as follows:
