Discussing Film reports that Nicolas Cage is apparently providing the voice of Spider-Man Noir in the upcoming animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Noir is believed to be in the film based off a Funko Pop! Vinyl figure listing, which lists Noir as part of the series based on the animated film, and the report at the above link indicates that Cage, a longtime comics and superhero fan, was cast in the role.

The film is expected to feature multiple versions of the wall-crawler from different universes. The cast includes Shamiek Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld as Spider-Gwen, Jake Johnson as Peter Parker, Liev Schreiber as Kingpin, Mahershala Ali as Miles’ uncle Aaron, Bryan Tyree Henry as Miles’ father Jefferson, Luna Lauren Velez as Miles’ mother Rio, and Lily Tomlin as Aunt May.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman from a script by Phil Lord. It arrives on December 14. Here’s an official synopsis:

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the creative minds behind The Lego Movie and 21 Jump Street, bring their unique talents to a fresh vision of a different Spider-Man Universe, with a groundbreaking visual style that’s the first of its kind. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales, and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one can wear the mask.
