Prime Video is is circling a third season of Good Omens, according to a new report. Deadline reports that the Neil Gaiman fantasy series is looking likely to come back for a third run courtesy of a renewal by Amazon and the BBC, and that the options on the main cast have been picked up.
The report notes that Douglas Mackinnon, who was an EP, director and co-showrunner on the first two seasons, will not be coming back. Mackinnon announced his exit on Instagram, confirming that he’s “not involved anymore.” Gaiman said on Bluesky that Mackinnon has “moved on to other projects.”
Season two premiered in August and has performed well for Prime Video, and Gaiman said at the time that a third season is “planned and plotted and if there wasn’t a Writers Strike on I’d be writing it right now.”
The third season would reportedly be the end of the series and bring the storyline, which will draw from the unfinished sequel to Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s book, to an end.
