Sam Richardson Joins John Cena in Matchbox Movie

Sam Richardson is headed into the world of Mattel, joining John Cena in the cast of Matchbox. THR reports that the Veep and Ted Lasso star has signed on for a role in the live-action film, which comes from Apple Original Films. He will star with Cena and Jessica Biel in the movie.

Sam Hargrave (Extraction) is directing the film, which was written by David Coggeshall and Jonathan Tropper. Plot details are being kept under wraps for the movie.

Richardson has been busy on the big screen in recent years with roles in the likes of Werewolves Within, Hocus Pocus 2, Somebody I Used to Know, Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken, and The 4:30 Movie. He also voiced Shaggy in the Velma animated series.
