Scream 5 Set to Be Released By Paramount Next Year

The next iteration in the Scream franchise is set to be released by Paramount and will bow next year. Bloody Disgusting reports that Spyglass is teaming with Paramount on the fifth entry and will co-produce, with the plan to release the as-yet-untitled film in 2021.
The film was officially announced last month, with David Arquette confirmed to return as Dewey. Neve Campbell is also reportedly in talks to return for the movie, which will be directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (Ready or Not).
Plot details are under wraps for the movie, which will be co-writtenby James Vanderbilt (Zodiac, The Amazing Spider-Man) and Guy Busick (Ready or Not, Castle Rock). Scream franchise creator Kevin Williamson will executive produce, with filming beginning later this year in Wilmington, North Carolina once COVID-19 safety protocols are in place.
