Tessa Thompson is set to provide the voice for Lady in the live-action/CG hybrid remake of Lady and the Tramp. Collider reports that Thompson (Thor: Ragnarok, Creed) is in negotiations to voice Lady, while Benedict Wong (Doctor Strange, Avengers: Infinity War) will voice an English bulldog named Bull.

Charlie Bean will direct the film, which will begin production toward the end of the year. The remake will be made for and released on Disney’s digital streaming service, which will launch in 2019. The original film was released in 1955 and follows Lady, a pampered cocker spaniel belonging to a well-to-do family, and Tramp, a streetwise mutt. After her owners have a baby, Lady finds herself out on the streets left to fend for herself. When Lady finds herself in danger, Tramp saves the day and tries to teach her that there’s more to life than the inside of a house. Adventure happens and love blossoms as a result.
