The Boys To End With Fifth Season
Amazon will be finishing up The Boys with its fifth season. Creator and showrunner Eric Kripke posted to Twitter ahead of season four’s premiere to announce that season five will be the main show’s last, writing:
“#TheBoys Season 4 Premiere Week is a good time to announce: Season 5 will be the Final Season! Always my plan, I just had to be cagey till I got the final OK from Vought. Thrilled to bring the story to a gory, epic, moist climax. Watch Season 4 in 2 DAYS, cause the end has begun!”
The show got its season five renewal last month, with season four set to premiere on Thursday. Kripke’s comment about being “cagey” is in relation to an interview he did recently where he said he wouldn’t speculate on how long the show was going to run, but did “have an ending in mind.”
Prime Video will still have potential options for The Boys following the main show’s end. Spinoff The Boys: Gen V premiered last fall and has been renewed for a second season.
