The Game of Thrones Teaser May Hint at Sansa and Daenerys Friendship

While many are expecting a rough road ahead for Sansa and Daenerys in Game of Thrones’ final season, the recent teaser may hint to the contrary. As Uproxx notes, the teaser has a potential visual tease in there, specifically in Sansa’s hair.

As you can see in the promo below, Sansa is shown with a new hairstyle, which is very similar to Daenerys’. While this may seem to be a trifiling detail to some, Sansa has spoken about the importance of her hair in terms of her character before. As she said, it “changed season by season depending on who was influencing her. The first few episodes she was a Northerner in Winterfell and took after her mother with a simple braid down the back. Then when she went to King’s Landing it was a big, decadent halo that was very much like what the Queen wore. With Littlefinger, she dyes her hair black and wears all black. Then she goes back to Winterfell and returns to her mother’s hair.”

This, of course, gives the theory that Sansa may be under Dany’s influence a little more weight than just an out-of-context hairstyle would. PopSugar comments further, saying, “The coiled spiral of braids at the backs of their heads, the curled tumbling locks that cascade down their backs… It’s clear that the styles are, well, sisters, for lack of a better word. In other shots, you can see how singular braids at the front of the scalp have been pulled back to contribute to the entire look.”

The show will return to HBO on April 14th.
