The Matrix 4 Casts Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in a Lead Role

The new Matrix film has found one of its lead star in Aquaman actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. Abdul-Mateen, who played Black Manta in the DC Extended Universe film, will play the as-yet-unspecififed main role per Variety.
Abdul-Mateen joins a cast that includes the returning Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss, reprising the roles as Neo and Trinity. Lana Wachowski is returning to direct from a script by Wachowski, Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell. Production is set to begin early next year.
To no surprise, plot details are being kept under wraps at this time.
