The Northman Hitting On Demand This Friday
If you haven’t had the chance to check out Robert Eggers’ The Northman yet, worry not — it will be available for home viewing this Friday. The Twitter account for the bloody Viking revenge film announced on Monday that the film will be available On-Demand starting May 13th, as you can see below.
The film stars Alexander Skarsgard, Anya Taylor-Joy, Nicole Kidman, Claes Bang, Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe, and Björk and is directed by Eggers from his own script. The R-rated film has grossed $51.8 million worldwide this far in 18 days of theatrical release and is described as follows:
Young Prince Amleth is on the cusp of becoming a man when his father is brutally murdered by his uncle, who kidnaps the boy’s mother. Fleeing his island kingdom by boat, the child vows revenge. Two decades later, Amleth is a Viking berserker raiding Slavic villages, where a seeress reminds him of his vow: avenge his father, save his mother, kill his uncle. Traveling on a slave ship to Iceland, Amleth infiltrates his uncle’s farm with the help of Olga, an enslaved Slavic woman — and sets out to honor his vow.
