Tom Holland Says He Pitched a Young James Bond Film
Tom Holland has revealed that he made a pitch to Sony for a film focusing on a young James Bond. Holland, who is coming off the massive success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, spoke with Total Film Magazine (per Games Radar) to promote the upcoming Uncharted. During the discussion, he noted that he pitched the idea of an origin story for Bond around the time of Spider-Man: Far From Home.
“I had a meeting, after or during Spider-Man 2, with Sony to pitch this idea of a young Bond film I’d come up with,” he said. “It was the origin story of James Bond. It didn’t really make sense. It didn’t work. It was a dream of a young kid, and I don’t think the Bond estate [was] particularly interested.”
Eon Productions, which is the studio behind the Bond franchise, is currently in the market for a new James Bond as Daniel Craig made his swan song in last year’s No Time to Die. That film grossed $774 million worldwide.
Uncharted arrives on February 18th.
