Netflix has released a trailer for their upcoming remake of Benji, which debuts on March 16. The film was written, directed and produced by Brandon Camp. Camp’s father Joe wrote, directed and produced the original 1974 film, which made $45 million on a budget of $500,000 and was followed by four sequels. The remake stars Kiele Sanchez, Gabriel Bateman and Darby Camp (Big Little Lies).

Here’s a synopsis: A modern day retelling of the classic, the story of Benji follows one orphaned puppy and Carter and Frankie, two capricious New Orleans school kids who strike up a friendship with the tenacious street dog. When danger befalls them and they end up kidnapped by robbers who are in over their heads, Benji and his scruffy sidekick come to the rescue.
