The Trailer And Poster For The First Purge Are Here

Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions have a new trailer and poster for The First Purge, a prequel to the previous three Purge films. It was directed by Gerard McMurray from a script by James DeMonaco, who will also produce with Jason Blum, Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, Andrew Form and Sebastien K. Lemercier. It stars Y’Lan Noel, Lex Scott Davis, Joivan Wade, Luna Lauren Velez and Marisa Tomei. The film opens on July 4.

Welcome to the movement that began as a simple experiment: The First Purge. To push the crime rate below one percent for the rest of the year, the New Founding Fathers of America (NFFA) test a sociological theory that vents aggression for one night in one isolated community. But when the violence of oppressors meets the rage of the marginalized, the contagion will explode from the trial-city borders and spread across the nation.
