The Walking Dead EP Is “Incredibly Hopeful” That Lauren Cohan Will Re-Sign
The Walking Dead executive producer Scott Gimple says that he is optimistic about Lauren Cohan re-upping for the show’s ninth season. Gimple, who serves as showrunner for the series and will serve as chief content officer for the both TWD and Fear the Walking Dead going forward, spoke with TV Line about reports that Cohan is entertaining other offers for when her contract expires at the end of the current, eighth, season.
Gimple told the site about a new deal being reached with Cohan, “I’m incredibly hopeful…These things do happen in TV. But we’re talking.”
Gimple noted that there is a lot still a lot of story for Maggie’s character, adding, “And Lauren is an actor who has such intuition and such power. So yeah, hopefully, it all works out.”
The Walking Dead returns for the last half of its eighth season next Sunday at 9 PM ET/PT.
