Warner Bros. Moves Evil Dead Rise, House Party To Theatrical Releases
A couple of HBO Max-planned movies are going theatrical in Evil Dead Rise and House Party. Deadline reports that Warner Bros. has set theatrical release dates for the two films, which were originally planned for releases on the streaming service.
Evil Dead Rise, the latest film in the franchise, will bow on April 21st, 2023. Meanwhile, the House Party remake will release on December 9th, 2023. The studio has also set a September 8th, 2023 date for The Nun 2 and moved their Salem’s Lot remake to an undetermined date in 2023 from its April 21st, 2023 date.
Evil Dead Rise stars Alyssa Sutherland, Lily Sullivan, Gabrielle Echols, Morgan Davies, and Nell Fisher and is described as follows:
A road-weary Beth pays an overdue visit to her older sister Ellie, who is raising three kids on her own in a cramped L.A apartment. The sisters’ reunion is cut short by the discovery of a mysterious book deep in the bowels of Ellie’s building, giving rise to flesh-possessing demons, and thrusting Beth into a primal battle for survival as she is faced with the most nightmarish version of motherhood imaginable.
Meanwhile, House Party is directed by Calmatic and stars Tosin Cole, Jacob Latimore, Karen Obilom, DC Young Fly, and Scott Mescudi.
