Kanye West and Jay-Z Reunite For New Track Played At West’s Album Release Event

Kanye West and Jay-Z have reunited for their first track since their public falling out, which played at West’s album release event on Thursday. TMZ reports that the song played as the last track of West’s new LP DONDA, which he played in full at the Mercedes Benz Stadium event.

You can listen to a clip of the track below. This is the first collaboration between the two since 2016, when they appeared on Drake’s “Pop Style.” The bad blood between the two spilled out publicly in 2014 when Jay and Beyonce didn’t attend West and Kim Kardashian’s wedding. It got worse after that, with West publicly dragging Jay-Z during his 2016 tour for not touching bases with them when Kardashian was robbed in Paris. Jay would go on to take shots at West on his album 4:44. West eventually parted ways with Jay-Z’s TIDAL streaming service.

The collaboration comes 10 years after their team-up for Watch The Throne, which Jay references in the track when he says “This might be the return of the Throne.” DONDA officially releases tomorrow and is the first solo LP from West since 2019’s Jesus Is King, which was followed by his Sunday Service Choir project Jesus is Born on Christmas of the same year.
