Welcome to The Best Damn TNA Recap: Ver. 2 for 411wrestling.com. Once again, it’s me, the King of Wrestling Media Larry Csonka and I am here for you recapping pleasures. Remember, I don’t do star ratings, not my thing. My play by play is straight up, unless something just screams to be commented on in a sarcastic way, which I love to do. I have a good time, I mark out and yes I really enjoy TNA as well as the WWE and all wrestling. So sit back and relax and enjoy The Best Damn TNA Recap: Ver. 2!

Thanks to DB Campbell for filling in for me the last 2-weeks. It was greatly appreciated and make sure you read his Smackdown recaps as well as the WWE Experience report. He suffers so you don’t have to!

Last week on Impact:

Match #1 Kid Kash, Lance Hoyt and Michael Shane defeated Chris Sabin, Sonny Siaki and Apollo

  • Mike Tenay and Don West discuss the Lockdown PPV. Daggert brings out Candido who is in a wheel chair due to a beating from Nash. If Nash shows up security will take care of him.
  • Trinity hits on Michael Shane and says he could be X-Champ. Traci says she should be selling Dusty’s book and is upset.

Match #2 The 3LK (James and Killings) defeated Team Canada (Alistair Ralphs and Petey Williams) w/ Scott D’Amore

  • Tenay and West have Dusty’s book and pimp it. Elix joins the announce team.

Match #3 Christopher Daniels© defeated Mikey Batts

  • There is still tension with the 3LK as Konnan doesn’t trust James.

Match #4 Konnan defeated Eric Young w/Scott D’Amore

  • Shane Douglas speaks with AJ Styles and Jeff Hardy. They will take on Abyss and Raven next week. Raven joins us and kills Hardy with a trashcan.
  • NWA Champion Jeff Jarrett and his FLYING Guitar join the commentary team as Kevin Nash is ushered off by Security.

Match #5 The Outlaw and “The Alpha Male” Monty Brown defeated Sean Waltman and DDP

  • They battle after the match and Nash amazingly fights off security to return to the battle.

    Today on Impact:

Buck Quartermain, Lex Lovett and David Young vs. The 3LK

Non-Title Match – The Naturals vs. America’s Most Wanted ©

Our Main Event – Raven and Abyss vs. Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles

Mike Tenay and Don West welcome us to Universal Studios and TNA IMPACT and pimp LOCKDOWN!

Match #1 Buck Quartermain, Lex Lovett and David Young vs. The 3LK (James, Killings and Konnan)

Konnan grabs the mic to “speak on this.” He lost his dog, again. James turn with some new shtick, then the old shtick.

Konnan and Lex to start. Lock up and Konnan with a wrist lock. His shoe comes off and he throws it at Lex, what a retard. Killings in and an arm drag on Young followed by a power slam for 2. All of the 3LK in and the triple team nizzie leg drop to Young. BG in and a headlock to Young, but Young gets a spine buster after BG took out Buck and Lex. Buck in now and a knee to BG. Lex holds BG and they double-team him in the corner. Lex in and a snap mare to BG and a rear choke now. Boots to BG now and a tag to Young. Boots to BG by him and off the ropes and a nice drop kick by Young gets 2. Tag to Buck and BG fights back. Off the ropes and they collide. BITH men are down and look for the tag. Roll up by BG and Buck quickly out. Tag to Lex, off the ropes and BG with a double clothesline to Lex and Buck! BG crawls and tags Killings! Rights for all! Spinning forearm to Young! Lex tossed to the floor and it breaks down and everyone goes at it. AX kick to Young and Killings covers for the win @ 5:00.

  • Not a bad match, but I question having a match between 6-men that will only be on the PPV Pre-show on the “hard sell” edition of Impact.

TNA’s Top 5 Steel cage moments.

#5. Six Sides of Steel: AMW vs. The Naturals: Chase Stevens Moonsaults onto AMW/Douglas from the top of the cage; First Six Sides of Steel Cage Match.

    Commercial time.

We are back with highlights of JJ in Puerto Rico defending the NWA Title. AMW vs. Team Canada and Abyss was there as well.

TNA’s Top 5 Steel cage moments.

#4. Six Sides of Steel: AMW vs. XXX: Tower of Doom spot; Turning Point 2004

Tenay and West talk about the Daniels vs. Skipper match. We get a video package for Daniels and Elix’s feud. Daniels proclaims his greatness. WORSHIP HIM! Great video, as Daniels talked over stills and videos of he and Elix, and of him around the empty studio. Excellent.

    Commercial time.

We are back TNA’s Top 5 Steel cage moments.

#3. Steel Cage Match: AMW vs. XXX: AMW’s Death Sentence on Christopher Daniels; First TNA Cage match.

Tenay and West have Dustin Rhodes at the commentary booth to talk about the Prince of Darkness Death match vs. Bobby Rude. Rude decides to answer for him and KILLS him with a steel chair shot. AMW come out to help Dustin, way to wait for him to be knocked out first. West goes to check on Dustin, as security helps him out and to the back.

Match #2 Non-Title Match – The Naturals (Stevens and Douglas) w/Chris Candido in a Wheel Chair vs. America’s Most Wanted © (Storm and Harris)

AMW pull the Naturals to the floor to start and brawl at ringside. Douglas is slammed off of the announce table as Storm now goes after Candido. Douglas is slammed on the mat and Stevens saves Candido. AMW slams the Naturals off of opposing announce tables. Stevens rammed into the steel railing and then again by Harris. Storm back after Candido and the ref tries to stop him as Harris beats the shit out of Douglas on the ramp. Now Storm attacks Stevens, and we are still on the floor and fighting. SOMEONE GET SOME CONTROL HERE! THERE WILL BE FINES AND SUSPENSIONS DAMNIT!! Finally in the ring as we head to commercial @ 3:03.

Back form commercial @ 5:30 with Stevens in control of Storm. He chokes him and then tags in Douglas. Elbow to Strom and a seated abdominal stretch on Storm. He fights to his feet and Douglas still holds on. Hip toss to Douglas. Slam by Storm and he looks for a tag. Tag to Harris! Lefts to Douglas. Swinging neck breaker to Douglas. Douglas tags Stevens but Harris levels them both. Lariat to Stevens and then tosses Douglas off of the top. Power slam to Stevens for 2. All 4 men in, but Storm takes Douglas to the floor. Super kick to Stevens! Storm pulled to the floor and Candido is up! HE IS HEALED! He LEVELS Harris with the cast and chain wrapped hand! Stevens covers and that is all @ 8:32!

  • Not bad. This was basically a tamed down version of one of their PPV matches, and of course shorter. Hopefully this means that The Naturals will be getting back into the tag title picture after the PPV, but I won’t hold my breath. I also question having the tag champions lose going into a PPV title defense to a team that they AREN’T EVEN FACING!

    Commercial time.

We are back with TNA’s Top 5 Steel cage moments.

#2. Six Sides of Steel: Jeff Hardy vs. Jeff Jarrett©: Jeff Hardy Misses the wanton from the top of the cage vs. JJ; Best Damn Wrestling Event II

Tenay and West pimp the PPV. They discuss Abyss vs. AJ. Now they show a video about the lethal lockdown 6-man Cage match.

    Commercial time.

We are back with TNA’s Top 5 Steel cage moments.

#1. Six Sides of Steel: AMW vs. XXX: Elix Skipper’s Cage Walk RANA; Turning Point 2004

So right now FSN died on me, and I have a black screen. The #1 Cage Moment is a given, and after 5 minutes I am watching Impact again!

Match #3 Raven and Abyss vs. Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles

Raven and Jeff to start and now Abyss decides he will start. Abyss clubs Jeff down. Jeff runs and gets a clothesline, which does nothing. Jeff down again. Abyss misses a leg drop and Jeff gets a jawbreaker to Abyss. Nizzie leg drop to Abyss. Tag to AJ with the high knee drop. AJ with a clothesline that takes Abyss to the floor. Raven in, reversals and AJ with the swank drop kick. Forearms to Raven and chops now. Raven to the corner and AJ with more chops. Clothesline in the corner to Raven and he is down. Slingshot into a leg drop by AJ and then goes to leap in but Abyss drops him to the floor. Abyss to the floor and he beats down on AJ. AJ thrown back in and Raven covers for 2. Abyss back in and a BIG corner splash to AJ. Abyss picks AJ back up and levels him with a right hand. Tag to Raven and he boots away at AJ. Clothesline by Raven and covers for 2. AJ with a quick roll up for 2. Tag to Abyss now and AJ is in trouble. Clubbing blows to the back of AJ. Abyss covers for 2 as we head to a commercial @ 5:00.

We are back @ 7:35 with Abyss wrenching at the neck of AJ. AJ escapes, off the ropes and a HUGE toss flapjack to AJ! Tag to Raven, and he knocks Jeff off of the apron and then tags Abyss back in. Raven gets a table as Abyss chokes out AJ. Raven tells him to toss him through it. Abyss picks up AJ power bomb style…AJ ESCAPES! PELE to Abyss! Raven pulls AJ in and Jeff is back on the apron. TAG to Jeff. Clothesline to Raven. Jawbreaker to Raven. AJ FLIES ONTO ABYSS but he catches him and Abyss crushes him against the steel post! Twisted Stunner to Raven and Abyss breaks it up. Jeff with a boot to Abyss, off the ropes…BLACK HOLE SLAM but AJ FLIES IN to save Jeff! AJ wants a Styles Clash, but Raven breaks it up. Abyss grabs his chain now, and AJ saves Jeff but takes the shot to the head! DQ @ 11:30.

Raven with a DDT to Hardy as AJ is out. Abyss sets a chair in the corner and AJ is up and Abyss WHIPS HIM with the chain! Raven tosses Jeff out to the floor THROUGH the table! Abyss wraps the chain around AJ’s throat and pulls him into the CHAIR with it! Hardy is out, AJ is out as Abyss and Raven stand tall going into Lockdown.

The medical staff attends to AJ and Jeff. They put AJ on a stretcher and Abyss is back to torture him and they fight as we fade.

  • You know what, I liked it. It was a good match with a hot ending to make you want to see more.

  • Final Impact Thoughts: I was a bit worried with how we started the show. The first 2 matches did nothing to build or hype the PPV, so that is bad. The good news is that they weren’t bad matches. The main event was great and not only saved the show, but also was that “HOT” match/ending that TNA has been lacking going into a PPV. You watched this and knew these 4-men hated each other and if you weren’t going to order before, that kind of ending could change your mind. Good effort going into PPV this month from TNA, not the hot show they need overall, but much better.

Thanks for joining me this week for Impact. Keep the feedback and suggestions coming; I crave it and can’t live without it! Until next time, I am Larry Csonka and you know you want to be a Zonkamaniac~!
