411’s WWE Velocity Report: 03.25.06

March 26, 2006 | Posted by Scott Fried

Sorry for the absence, but I’m back with a vengeance.

Josh Mathews is solo this week, kicking things off with a classic of the highest sense- Bret Hart versus Steve Austin from WrestleMania XIII. What can you say, really? Any match that ranks in the top five from two of the modern era’s greatest performers already has a mile of legend preceding it.

From that to this, as we go to Hogan and Gene Okerlund training, then wrestling against George Steele and Mr. Fuji. Mildly funny stuff- a great example of how different the WWF and the NWA were during that time period.

From a SNME in 1991, we get Ted DiBiase (with Sherri) against Bret Hart. What you’d expect, really, with good wrestling and top-notch interference from Sherri. Piper heads out and chases Sherri off, while DiBiase and Hart brawl to a double countout.

We finish with Eddie Guerrero’s induction package, and footage of his and Rey’s Tag Title win over the Bashams at No Way Out 2005. Great match from a highly underrated card, likely the Bashams’ best match as a team. About ****.

A good edition of Velocity, prior to what is sure to be a good Hall of Fame induction ceremony. The first two hours air on WWE.com and the final hour airs on USA, so catch it.
