AEW has reprimanded Swerve Strickland for his heinous actions this past Wednesday on Dynamite.
On tonight’s Collision, veteran commentator Tony Schiavone announced that Strickland has been fined $100,000 besides being barred from attending the Saturday Night Show for the vicious attack that he unleashed on Kenny Omega on Dynamite.
After weeks of bad blood, Swerve Strickland and Kenny Omega finally went one-on-one this past Wednesday on Dynamite.
At one point during the match, Omega had Strickland on the ropes for a V-Trigger. However, Swerve goaded referee Aubrey Edwards into checking on him after he complained about his shoulder, only for him to pull her into the path of the V-Trigger.
Swerve ultimately secured a victory following a House Call and Big Pressure. However, he wasn’t done yet. The Mogul took a steel chain from Prince Nana and wrapped it around Omega’s neck before hanging him over the top rope.
Strickland still wasn’t done, as he dismantled the commentary table and pulled up the steel steps close to it, ultimately sending The Cleaner crashing through the table with a Vertebreaker. He then looked into the camera and said, “I needed this! I needed this.”
