AEW Issues Statement On Passing Of The Butcher

AEW has issued a statement reacting to the sudden and tragic passing of “The Butcher” Andy Williams over the weekend. As noted, Williams passed away after collapsing at Enjoy Wrestling’s Five-Year Anniversary on Saturday. He was taken to the hospital before being passing at the age of just 48.

THe Butcher and The Blade were part of the AEW roster for nearly seven years, competing as part of the tag team division. AEW posted to Twitter to remember Williams, writing:

“All Elite Wrestling is saddened to learn of the passing of Andy Williams, aka The Butcher. A trailblazing musician with ETID and Atomic Rule, Williams made a successful transition into the world of professional wrestling and was incredibly respected by his peers both in and out of the ring. Our condolences go out to Williams’ family, friends and fans.”

Several other wrestlers and organizations have also come out to pay tribute to Williams since the news broke on Sunday morning.
