Kenny Omega was reportedly not originally set to appear on last night’s AEW Dynamite before it became a PAC tribute episode. Last night’s show featured Omega reuniting with The Young Bucks and Hangman Page as the Elite to face the Don Callis Family’s Kyle Fletcher, Kevin Knight, Rocky Romero, and Trent Beretta. The Elite picked up the win.
Dave Meltzer noted on this morning’s Wrestling Observer Radio that Omega flew in on short notice to appear on the show, as he was in Japan. “He was not scheduled for this show,” Meltzer said (per Wrestling Inc). “The whole show was changed, and I knew it would be, but whatever was planned, everything was basically thrown out.”
Bryan Alvarez also noted on WOR that things for the episode were changed so that certain people who wanted to appear could. Meltzer added that Mercedes Mone, who hadn’t been cleared for this past weekend’s AEW All Out, was one of those. He said, “Mercedes wanted to work on the show because of her fondness for PAC.”
Mone was part of the women’s trios match on the show, teaming with Persephone and Britt Baker in a loss to Thunder Rosa, Hyan, and Marina Shafir.
