In an interesting development, Andrade El Idolo is set to compete at an upcoming indie event in the United States. Big Time Wrestling recently announced on its website that Andrade will make his debut for the independent promotion at its November 1 event at the Augusta Civic Center.
The former WWE Superstar is slated to lock horns with Donovan Dijak at the event. Additionally, Matt Riddle is set to battle PCO in a No Disqualification Match on November 01. WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle is also being advertised for a meet-and-greet event.

Andrade El Idolo being advertised by Big Time Wrestling comes as a major surprise, given that he is currently tied to a one-year non-compete clause with WWE. El Idolo was recently fired by the Stamford-based promotion for allegedly violating the company’s wellness policy, following which he shockingly showed up on the sixth anniversary special episode of AEW Dynamite earlier this month, attacking Kenny Omega and aligning himself with The Don Callis Family.
However, he soon disappeared from AEW’s weekly programming, and it later emerged that WWE sent a cease-and-desist, alleging that the Tony Khan-led company and Andrade broke the one-year non-compete clause. Andrade last wrestled on October 3, defeating DMT Azul to win the Crash Heavyweight Title.
It will be interesting to see if Andrade El Idolo competes at Big Time Wrestling’s event on November 1.
