WWE Reportedly Considered Fanatics Fest ‘Major Success,’ Note On Future Plans

WWE was reportedly very pleased with the results out of Fanatics Fest, with the event labeled a “major success” in the company. The annual fan convention took place last weekend, with WWE heavily involved. Amont the company’s showings there were the SummerSlam Kickoff event, live podcast recordings, and of course signings and photo ops with WWE stars.

According to a source in WWE, the company was exceptionally pleased with how it went down and most of the stars advertised had consistent lines for their appearances. Cody Rhodes and Danhausen were among the most in-demand talents at the convention, and Charlotte Flair had one of the longest autograph lines for the weekend. The report notes that Rhodes and Danhausen had interest not only from fans, but from those behind the scenes.

A source told WrestleVotes that there’s interest in going more historical WWE appearances at next year’s convention in terms of WWE legends. It was said that names like Steve Austin and Bret Hart were among those that Fanatics hopes to have attend next year. This is particularly the case as the usual WWE World event won’t be taking place in the US next year with WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia.

In a related merchandise note, the report says that the AAA figure line announced today by Mattel is expected to be first shown off at San Diego Comic-Con, which is currently ongoing and runs through Sunday. The first WWE figure of Danhausen is also expected to debut. The AAA Mattel line will, as the announcement stated, officially release next fall.
