Backstage Note on Recovery Status of Will Ospreay, Projected Goal for His Return

During last night’s edition of AEW Dynamite, a video package was shown for injured wrestler Will Ospreay, who is recovering after undergoing neck surgery to repair his herniated discs last year. Dave Meltzer provided more details on Ospreay’s injury status on today’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio.

According to Meltzer, Ospreay won’t be returning to the ring “anytime soon.” Meltzer stated, “He ain’t coming back anytime soon. He started — The last I heard, he was going to start very light training this month, but I mean, it’s a long way away.”

Meltzer continued on Ospreay, “He had major surgery. I know everyone thinks that that means he’s going to be back for All In, and I know that that’s certainly [the goal]. I don’t know if he will or he won’t. I know it’s the goal. It still feels too quick, but you know, I’m sure that’s the goal.”

AEW is set to return to Wembley Stadium in London for AEW All In 2026, which likely explains why AEW is hopeful Ospreay will be back in time for that event. AEW All In 2026 is scheduled for August 30 in London, England.

It remains to be seen if Will Ospreay will be ready to make his in-ring return in time for AEW All In 2026.
