BodySlam+ has an update on the recovery of injured WWE Superstar and former Universal Champion, Kevin Owens. As noted, Owens stepped away last year due to a neck injury, which eventually forced him to undergo neck fusion surgery to repair it later in July 2025.
According to the update, Owens is slated to undergo re-evaluation to see how his recovery is coming along. Additionally, BodySlam+ notes that another source indicates that WWE hopes that Owens will be able to return to the ring at some point later this year.
Neck fusion surgery recovery can typically take from six months to a year. Kevin Owens last wrestled at WWE Elimination Chamber 2025, beating Sami Zayn in an Unsanctioned Match. He’s made some appearances now and again, but he’s reportedly slated to join the cast of WWE LFG as one of the new veteran mentors in Season 3.
