Braun Strowman has revealed the unusual story behind his WWE ring name, explaining that it was inspired by two Major League Baseball players.

Speaking during a recent appearance on 10,000 Nos, the former WWE Universal Champion shared how the name “Braun Strowman” came together during the early stages of his wrestling career.

According to Strowman, the inspiration struck while he was listening to a conversation about baseball players Ryan Braun and Marcus Stroman. The combination of the two names immediately stood out to him (via Fightful).

“They’re talking about Ryan Braun, and I’m like, ‘Braun, Braun, I’m kind of brawny,’ and then literally they transition right after that and they start talking about Marcus Stroman, the baseball player.”

Strowman, whose real name is Adam Scherr, debuted in WWE as a member of The Wyatt Family before eventually breaking out as a singles star. Over the years, he built a reputation as one of WWE’s most physically imposing competitors, earning nicknames such as “The Monster Among Men.”

In his WWE career, Strowman has captured multiple championships, including the Universal Championship, and has been involved in high-profile rivalries with some of the promotion’s biggest names.
