Bully Ray has turned a corner on wanting to see Gunther retire Brock Lesnar, saying that he’d rather see Oba Femi do it. There was heavy speculation that, following his adoption of the “Career Killer” name, Gunther would add Lesnar to his list of retired opponents that includes Goldberg, AJ Styles, and John Cena. Bully thought back in September that Gunther was the person who should come in and retire Lesnar.

Of course, Lesnar seemingly retired at WrestleMania 42 after his loss to Oba Femi only to come back and attack Femi on Raw earlier this month. Femi and Lesnar will compete at WWE Clash in Italy in a rematch. Bully spoke on Busted Open Radio (per Wrestling Inc) that he now sees Femi as the guy to retire Lesnar. You can see highlights below:

On the Gunther & Cody Rhodes Arc:

“I am far more intrigued by the Gunther/Cody storyline and what it can turn into than I am Gunther and Brock. Also, Brock took off his boots and his gloves, post-WrestleMania match against Oba Femi. He basically symbolically retired, symbolically retired without saying the words, ‘I’m retired.’ Changed his mind, came back and attacked Oba on Raw The only person I want to see officially retire Brock Lesnar is Oba Femi.”

On the Potential For Femi Retiring Lesnar:

“Oba can say, ‘I left you laying at WrestleMania. I left you laying so bad that you had to retire.’ Brock can say, ‘I left you laying in Italy. I left you laying so bad that you couldn’t stand up on your own two feet.’ How do we settle this? Last Man Standing for their career. Go to SummerSlam.”

On How He Expects It To Go:

“I do not believe for one second and would be floored and shocked if this was the last match between Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar. Brock Lesnar is going to defeat Oba Femi in Turin, Italy… They do have a history of doing things where you just say like why the hell did you do this in the first place? There is a 1% chance that it could happen [where Femi beats Lesnar again], but I’m hoping they’ve learned from their mistakes in the past and Brock Lesnar is going to defeat Oba. It’s going to be one and one. You got to have the rubber match, the best two out of three. You have to have the third match at SummerSlam in Minneapolis, where there’s going to be a definitive stipulation where now Brock says, ‘If you beat me, then I am retired for good.'”
